Smiths Gauges Manufactured for 80th Anniversary Morgan 4/4
The Morgan 4/4 was first produced in 1936 and the magical car has the accolade of being the longest running production vehicle in the world. Nimble, agile, stylish, classy and gorgeous are just a few of the adjectives used to describe this classic of the British motor industry.
To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Morgan 4/4, the Morgan Motor company is producing a limited edition. In all, only 80 vehicles will be produced, each entirely hand crafted and featuring many new features inspired by the first cars.
Set in the matte lacquered walnut dashboard of the anniversary Morgan 4/4 will be classic period SMITHS dials with cream faces and brass bezels. Each dial has been designed and manufactured using original SMITHS tools, ensuring the authenticity of the look and feel.
The 3 gauges include:
- Speedometer with both MPH and KM/H;
- A rev counter, up to 8000 RPM;
- A central gauge for Fuel, Oil and Temperature;
All the gauges have been manufactured at the CAI Gauge facility in South Wales, where we still manufacture some gauges as they were made in the 1950's. We also manufacture gauges in the same style, but with more modern electronic components, to interfaces with more contemporary senders and CAN signals
SMITHS Instruments gauges have a great history and are a feature of many classic cars. Further details can be found under the Classic Car section on the website.
